Kristina Alvarez, BS, CHES®, LMT, MTI
Welcome to Bliss Health & Wellness
Kristina has a natural intuitive nature and she has developed a deep understanding of healing modalities during her journey into the healing arts. She attended Texas Healing Arts Institute, earning her massage license in January 2003 and she obtained her Massage Therapy Instructors License in the summer of 2010. She earned her Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®) designation in April 2016.
Kristina’s wellness journey began over 7 years ago when her weight topped at 260 pounds. She knew that she needed to make changes if she wanted to live a long and healthy life. This new journey led her to The University of Texas at Austin where she obtained a BS in Kinesiology and Health Education, majoring in Health Promotion and minoring in Community Health and Wellness. With the education gained Kristina has learned to manage a chronic skin condition, tenia versicolor with diet and stress management techniques and heal her gallbladder without surgery.
Kristina prides herself on her ability to care and listen to the needs of others. Everything she does is tailored to the individual needs of each client. During massage she uses multiple modalities to address your current areas of concern, giving you a customized session to obtain the best possible results. Her massage style originates from training in a modality called Flo that uses a ginger tea fomentation and incorporates Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy and energy balance. This method promotes fluid movements of the muscles and joints, reducing healing time for injured areas, and balancing chakras. This individualized experience balances and opens the body, which creates space so the body can heal itself from within.
Wellness coaching consists of developing a customized personal plan that assists in lifestyle changes and shifting perception that can assist you in reaching your goals while enhancing your well being.
Coaching can assist with a variety of issues, including stress management, managing chronic conditions, and following new nutritional, exercise, or weight-loss plans.
Kristina’s primary focus is holistic healing of the body, mind and spirit, reducing chronic pain, facilitating injury recovery, and improving body function.
Our ultimate goal is to assist you in building your path to wellness.
Follow your bliss…find your health.
