Kristina Alvarez, BS, CHES, LMT, MTI
Kristina has developed a deep understanding of healing modalities during her journey into the healing arts, which began at a very young age. She attended Texas Healing Arts Institute, earning her massage license in January 2003. Kristina obtained her Massage Therapy Instructors License in the summer of 2010, and her Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) in April 2016.
Kristina graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Kinesiology and Health Education majoring in Health Promotion and minoring in Community Health and Wellness. Her current educational focus is Self-Directed Neuroplasticity (SDN), Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and fascia manipulation to reduce chronic pain, facilitate injury recovery and improve body function.
Kristina prides herself on her ability to care and listen to the needs of others. She tailors the massage to the individual needs of each client by using multiple modalities to address your current areas of concern, giving you a customized session to fit your specific needs to obtain the best possible results. Her primary focus is on restorative body function, injury prevention/recovery, and athletic performance improvement.
Her massage style originates from training in a modality called Flo that uses a ginger tea fomentation and incorporates Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy and energy balance. This method promotes fluid movements of the muscles and joints, reducing healing time for injured areas, and balancing chakras. Each massage is tailored to the client, creating an individualized experience to balance and open the body. This creates space so the body can heal itself from within.
Wellness coaching consists of a customized personal plan to assist in lifestyle changes that assists you in reaching your goals and to enhance your well being.
